My Background:

I started trucking in 1973 and I have been a company driver, both union and non-union. As an owner-operator, I bought my first truck in 1976 and got rid of my last truck in 1984. I am licensed for anything and everything, including crossing borders, however in 5 ½ years with Crete I was dispatched only once into Canada.

Reason's Why I am Still With Crete Carrier Corp:

Crete and its subsidiaries make up the largest privately owned, and debt free, trucking company in North America. They didn't get there by accident. I've worked with a lot of companies over the years and Crete is about as fair and honest as they come. You know how some companies, when they can't make money hauling freight, view their Drivers / Owner Ops as profit centers and will steal from them? Well I have yet to see that here, but if I ever do I'll be gone in a heart beat.

What Mama really likes is my earnings are fairly consistent (as you can see from my W2's (coming soon)). When I started in 2003, I was at .38 cents a mile and have been at .47 cents a mile since 2006. I just recently moved into my second new truck, we don't slip-seat tractors. As long as I do what I am told, no one messes with me. And as long as I give them 7 to 10 days notice that its time for me to get home, again there's no problem.
